Thames valley university's school of nursing and midwifery has scaled new heights in a new national university guide published this week. The guardian's university guide 2010, which compares 117 universities across the country, has rated tvu number one for nursing and paramedical studies in england and number two nationally, coming second overall to edinburgh. Tvu, which was in eighth place in last year's league table, says its focus on listening and learning is key to its leap up the rankings. As ian peate, head of the school of nursing and midwifery, explains, 'we are very pleased to have jumped to the top of the league table for nursing in england.
